How to Customize Inspection Templates in ApiManager

What is an inspection template?

An inspection template defines which sections and fields are shown when you create a new inspection. Customizing templates helps you keep forms short, focused, and fast.

Open Inspection Template settings

1. Open Settings.
2. Go to Inspection Template.

Step 1: Enable or disable sections

You can toggle entire inspection sections on or off, such as:

• General
• Brood
• Queen
• Stores
• Mite Monitoring
• Weather
• Notes

Disabled sections will not appear during inspections.

Step 2: Customize fields inside sections

Within each section, you can choose which fields are visible. Examples:

• Enable Mites Count and Bees Sampled
• Hide Weather Wind if you don’t record it
• Show Queen Mark Color

Step 3: Save template changes

1. Make your adjustments.
2. Tap/click Save.
3. Changes apply to future inspections.

Using customized templates

When you create a new inspection:

• Only enabled sections appear.
• Only selected fields are shown.

This makes inspections faster and more consistent.

Example setups

• Quick check template — Queen, Brood, Mite Monitoring
• Full inspection template — All sections enabled
• Winter inspection — Stores, Queen, Notes

Best practices

• Start simple and add fields gradually.
• Keep only fields you actually use.
• Review template once per season.
• Align template with your management goals.
