How to Record Treatments in ApiManager
Treatments are a critical part of colony health management. In ApiManager, you can record disease treatments with full context — which apiary and hives were treated, what product was used, dosage, treatment duration, and detailed notes — keeping your health records accurate and traceable.
What this tutorial covers
- Open the Treatments section and start a new treatment
- Select apiary and hives (single, multiple, or all)
- Choose disease and treatment product
- Set treatment duration (from / to)
- Enter treatment amount (total or per hive)
- Add notes and save treatment
Open the Treatments screen
- Open Treatments from the ApiManager menu.
- Tap/click Create.
Step 1: Select scope (Apiary & Hives)
Define where the treatment applies.
- Apiary — choose the apiary.
- All Hives — apply treatment to every hive in the apiary.
- Hives — select one or more specific hives.
The hive counter shows how many hives are included in this treatment.
Step 2: Enter treatment details
- Name — descriptive treatment name (example: “Autumn Varroa Treatment”).
- Disease — select the disease or problem being treated.
- Treatment — choose the treatment product used.
Notes (optional)
Add useful context such as treatment method, weather conditions, observed mite drop, or any special observations.
Step 3: Set treatment duration
Some treatments last multiple days. ApiManager allows you to define the full treatment period.
- From — start date of the treatment.
- To — end date of the treatment.
This is especially useful for long-term or repeated treatments.
Step 4: Enter treatment amount
You can record treatment quantity in two ways:
- Total — total amount used for all selected hives.
- Per Hive — amount applied to each hive.
ApiManager automatically calculates the corresponding value.
- Quantity — numeric amount.
- Dose / Unit — strips, ml, g, or other configured units.
Save the treatment
- Review all entered information.
- Tap/click Save.
- The treatment is now recorded in your treatment history.
Best practices
- Record treatments immediately after application.
- Always specify the disease being treated.
- Use notes to document method and observations.
- Review treatment history before inspections and harvests.
Clear treatment records help you track colony health, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and stay compliant with good beekeeping practices.
