Goal of the first week

The goal is not to enter everything.

  • Create a clean structure
  • Record current reality
  • Start using ApiManager regularly

Think of the first week as building a base, not finishing the house.

Day 1: Create structure

  • Create your apiaries
  • Add your hives
  • Set current hive status

Do this on desktop if possible — it’s faster and clearer.

Day 2: Customize inspections

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Inspection Template.
  3. Enable only fields you actually use.

This makes inspections faster on mobile.

Day 3: Record your first real inspection

Visit your apiary and:

  • Record an inspection per hive
  • Focus on queen, brood, stores
  • Add short notes

Perfect data is not required — consistency is.

Day 4: Add recent history

Add only what matters now:

  • Last Varroa test
  • Recent treatment
  • Recent feeding

Older data can be summarized later.

Day 5: Set up Tasks & reminders

Create tasks such as:

  • Next inspection
  • Next Varroa check
  • Upcoming feeding or treatment

Set reminders so ApiManager starts working for you.

Day 6: Review reports & charts

  1. Open Reports or Charts.
  2. Explore without pressure.
  3. Get familiar with layout.

You don’t need to understand everything yet.

Day 7: Build the habit

Decide:

  • When you record inspections
  • When you review data
  • Which device you use in the field

Consistency beats complexity.

What to skip in the first week

  • Entering years of old data
  • Over-customizing everything
  • Trying all features at once

ApiManager grows with you.

Recommended workflow

  • Mobile → Field recording
  • Desktop → Review & planning
  • Tasks → Reminders

After the first week

Once the basics feel natural:

  • Explore reports more deeply
  • Plan seasonal activities
  • Fine-tune templates

At this point, ApiManager becomes part of your routine.

Best practices

  • Record data immediately
  • Keep notes short
  • Review once per week
  • Trust the process

Most users say the first week is the turning point where ApiManager starts saving time instead of taking it.
